The competition to sign Boca Juniors striker Mateo Retegui continues to grow but AC Milan are very much in the race, a report claims.
According to a report from TMW, the fact that Retegui continues to score goals on loan from Boca at Tigre (6 in 6 games so far this season) and he has been called-up to the Italian national team by Roberto Mancini means that interest is growing.
The report claims that the player’s father-agent will soon hold talks with Atletico Madrid, who are interested in Retegui for next season, but the top scorer in the Argentine league is also in the sights of Italian clubs too.
There are three big Serie A sides ready to hold a meeting with the entourage of Retegui to probe the ground ahead of a potential summer attempt, namely Milan, Inter and Roma. It seems therefore that things are wide open at the moment.
