MN: Milan attacker Diaz in possible national team switch

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan attacking midfielder Brahim Diaz could be involved in a change of national team as the Morocco coach seeks to bring him into the fold, a report claims.

As has been reported by Milan News, Morocco head coach Hoalid Regragui has met with the player to try and persuade him to change allegiances from Spain to Morocco.

The Real Madrid loanee is currently listed as a Spanish player and has played once for the senior team, scoring in a 4-0 win over Lithuania in a friendly.

That was back in 2021 and with the abundance of similar players in the current Spain setup, Diaz could be tempted to represent Morocco instead, the team that surprised everyone at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Diaz was born to a Spanish mother and a Moroccan father which is where his eligibility comes from. He was born in Malaga.

His two-year loan deal with Milan is over at the end of this season but the club are working on a permanent deal.
