AC Milan have fully joined the race for Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi and they are planning to hijack AS Roma’s attempts to sign the Italian, a report claims.
As has been reported by Sport Mediaset (via Milan Eye), the Rossoneri are keen to ensure that Frattesi comes to the San Siro rather than the Stadio Olimpico.
Roma still remain the team furthest ahead in negotiations after they chased him for the whole of last summer, but Milan feel they can convince the player to join them.
Sassuolo are asking for a transfer fee of €30-35 million to sell the Italian but they would likely accept a loan with an obligation to make the deal permanent in the summer of 2024.
A January move is not expected to be on the cards as Sassuolo would then need to find a replacement, but he certainly looks destined for a move away from Reggio Emilia in the summer.
I like this idea. Frattesi is all-action and an Italy international. But I don’t see Milan paying 30-35m for him unfortunately. Not unless we sell Leao for ~100m to fund transfers like this.
You throw in one or 2 of Pobega, Adli, Nasti, maybe Gabbia, Lazetic or Colombo with buy back options, other Primavera players and that asking price can be brought down significantly
But if you invest that much, he has to be a starter.
So either Milan switches to 3 man midfield or Pioli plays him on the right in the Saelemakers role of pseudo winger
that wont happen. Scamacca joined west ham and not psg just because psg were unwilling to match west ham bid.
Most teams won’t touch Pobega, he’s too slow and if Colombo has a decent second half of the season, he’ll be needed for rotation. Frattesi is a €15 million player. The fee is ridiculous.
Don’t worry they’ll sell him to Juve on the cheap
