Sky: Milan believe they can sign Botman from Lille – talks underway ‘at the highest levels’

By Oliver Fisher -

Despite all the new names emerging each day and the constant links with various defenders, another report has emerged claiming AC Milan are still trying to sign Sven Botman from Lille.

Journalist Alessandro Sugoni spoke on Sky (via MilanNews) this afternoon and confirmed that Milan are ‘continuing to think about’ Botman and that the two ownerships are talking about the Dutchman, therefore the discussion is ‘at the highest levels’.

Since relations are excellent between Milan and Lille, the Rossoneri are trying to understand if there is a way that all parties in the negotiation can come out of it happy, and they are looking to set up an operation in this way. Therefore Milan intend to try this path for ‘a few more days’ at least, he claims.

It comes after Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com reported that the Milan management would prefer to make an investment in January rather than plug the gap in their defensive department with a loan operation, so in the next few hours the Rossoneri will make a new attempt to land Botman because Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara still believe in the possibility of signing the Dutchman.
