CM: Milan still keeping tabs on Juve’s Bernardeschi over potential transfer

By Mitchell Wilks -

AC Milan have not yet shut the door on the possibility of signing Juventus winger Federico Bernardeschi, according to a new report.

Bernardeschi is yet to agree to terms over a new contract with the Old Lady and is increasingly being linked with a move away from the club, after five years in Turin.

Calciomercato.com report that while the 28-year-old is not Milan’s first choice, he remains on their radar with his contract status up in the air.

The Rossoneri still look set on pursuing Domenico Berardi from Sassuolo to bolster their right wing, according to the report, but continue to keep Bernardeschi’s name in conversations should they fail to land their primary target.

Signing for Juventus in 2017 from Fiorentina, Bernardeschi has played a limited role for I Bianconeri under Massimiliano Allegri this season, scoring just once.

A versatile attacker, Milan would be able to deploy Bernardeschi on either flank.

  1. Good choice for free transfer. Free. Provides good versatility. And his best position is RW. Don’t sign Messias and bring in free Bernardeschi instead. Still want Berardi too but this is a great free choice for depth.

    1. Agreed, on a free assuming he doesn’t want crazy wages, he’d suit a variety of positions but particularly RW.

Offload Samu and Messias, bring in Bernardeschi and then look at Berardi if we can sell Saelemaekers (who seems better suited to RWB in 3-5-2 rather than a true winger)

Also depends how much budget we are looking to allocate for kessie and romagnoli replacements.

  2. This rumour are trash, not only he is asking 4m euro/ years while rejected Juve new offer 2,5m euro/season. His performance in Juve are awful too . Weka weka weka

  3. I prefer Bernardeschi to Barardi as both are comparable talent wise but Bernardeschi makes more financial sense. I also think he’s better suited to a high tempo system and thus his recent experience at Juve under Allegri isn’t representative of how he’d be used at Milan.

    1. You do make a good point, Bernardeschi could press hard and he is a very hard worker so would be ideal for the system. He’s basically a more talented Saelemaekers who has a few goals in him unlike Alexis and also just paying wages and no transfer fee is excellent. If there’s truth in this rumor it’s a great choice.

    2. Bernardeschi scores once per season and MAYBE assists one or two. Berardi does 15+15. There is a reason why Juve will let Bernardeschi leave for free.
