AC Milan have sent a farewell message to Davide Calabria after his sale to Bologna was confirmed earlier today.
It became apparent over the weekend that Calabria was on the mood as he left Milanello on Saturday looking very emotional, confirming that a new chapter was about to begin for him.

Indeed, earlier today it was confirmed today that he has joined Bologna, ending an 18-year association with his boyhood club and sadly without a proper goodbye to the fans.

Calabria leaving Milan does not hurt us fans so much as he was good but never felt Milan level player.

It is not right to speak like this about our players if you are a true rossonero. Calabria has given a lot to our club, and he deserves the very best. Lately, he has not been at the level we have remembered him, but this happens to every player. Leaving him on the bench only means that the team manager is not capable of revitalising the team and carrying out a proper turnover to avoid injuries.

Still hurts to know he’s gone. Watching the team from 2020-2022 was truly a time I hold dear. Watching this under dog team claw back from a 7-1 defeat to finish top half, then to go unbeaten for 6 months the next season challenging for the title, and then to actually win it the next season… its truly depressing to know that team we loved so much has been ripped apart and replaced with nothing…Calabria, Kessie, Romagnoli, Kjaer, Tonali, Brahim, Giroud, Rebic. The spirit of that squad, the heart it showed, and the feeling behind it every game, it’s all but entirely gone now… I’ll never forget those 3 years, nor will any true Rossoneri fan. Thank you for all you gave Davide. You deserved better than this…

At the rate the management is going, it would get scarier for those who are around to want to continue because you get the feeling you could be tossed out at any moment. We have seen it with M&M, coach to players now and they never do it in a good way. It speaks volumes.
