GdS: Botman pursuit proceeding well for Milan but Renato Sanches pauses – the reason

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s pursuit of Lille midfielder Renato Sanches has slowed down a bit because the player has paused to reflect, according to a report.

Carlo Laudisa of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports that everything seemed to be going well in the talks with agent Jorge Mendes over Renato Sanches, but then it became clear that the former Bayern Munich midfielder has something else in his head.

The player for his part would like to come to Milan, but he is also expecting some tempting offers from other clubs so he has paused for a moment of reflection on his future, given that at 24 years of age the choice of his next club is a big step.

Meanwhile, comforting signals are coming from France regarding Sven Botman. He thanks Newcastle for their interest during the January window, but told them that Milan have a particular charm which attracts him, something Maldini and Massara are looking to leverage in their attempts to get a deal wrapped up before the summer.

  1. The Signing of Zanches from Lile will be like the one of Kondigbia of Inter. And It is Totally failure of Milan Projects

    1. Without sign a CB replacement Pioli will be under enormous pressure and holding on to what Milan has achieved may come undone in this derby game

Maldini and Massara are waiting for the next transfer window. What if that window doesn’t come for Milan

Other clubs are watching what they do and are just jumping on their transfer ideas with more money

ATM they are second tier world club and that was shown by them in the CL this season
Good luck Pioli, Maldini and Massara
People what about the Man Galdizi from Arsenal HAHAHA great ?

      1. “Without sign a CB replacement Pioli will be under enormous pressure and holding on to what Milan has achieved may come undone in this derby game” – No, Romagnoli and Kalulu have done well, and Tomori is about to return. Might as well keep the powder dry until the summer when more options will be available. Botman is clearly their no. 1 target and Lille wasn’t going to let him go in January. I’d rather they bring in someone who they truly want instead of whatever rando some club wants to discard in January.

“Maldini and Massara are waiting for the next transfer window. What if that window doesn’t come for Milan” – What does this mean? Will the club fold? Strange.

“Other clubs are watching what they do and are just jumping on their transfer ideas with more money” – I doubt other clubs just follow Milan’s scouting/directors around trying to see who we’re going to sign. Good players are obvious and other clubs are naturally interested.

“ATM they are second tier world club and that was shown by them in the CL this season” – Perhaps not wrong, but it’s a phase. The tone of the statement is negative not understanding this. First year back in the CL after eight out. People think clubs have monopoly money.

“People what about the Man Galdizi from Arsenal HAHAHA great ?” – Outstanding work. Club has reduced it’s debts and has added quality. Lots of uninformed people don’t realize we’re STILL UNDER FFP AGREEMENT that limit spending to a certain formula of debt to income. So we’re hamstrung until the oversight period ends. If we blow that we get banned from Europe and it’s back to square one, and that would really be “HAHAHA”.

        1. I will also add that if there was a game where it everything came “undone” it was the Siena game, and we lost that game despite the referee because our attackers couldn’t finish. We even missed a penalty. Should have been 3-0 at the half and dead and buried.

  2. Fortunately we seemed to have learned a great deal from that Spezia’s experience. Inter should’ve buried us in the first half as well, but we clung on to our dear life, and fortunately hit them back on the second.

I think Spezia’s match, albeit undesireable, it serves a great, invaluable learning experience for the lads.
