Report: Milan irritated by Kessie’s decision to snub Spurs – no more renewal offers will be made

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will not make any more offers to Franck Kessie to renew his contract after being left frustrated with his actions in January, a report claims.

According to what is being reported by the journalist Rudy Galetti on Twitter, Milan’s ownership and management did not like the fact that Kessie rejected an offer from Tottenham that would have at least allowed the Rossoneri to raise some funds from his sale.

After this episode, there will be no further renewal offers to the Ivorian meaning that he is now virtually certain to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of June, and this time he might have the pick of the clubs.

The Athletic reported earlier this week that midfield duo Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso were offered to Milan by Spurs, but the attempts to set up a swap deal got nowhere because of Kessie’s firm stance.

  1. Kessie did Milan a favour, those two rejects wouldn’t have added anything to the squad and would have meant management wouldn’t have strengthened the MF in the summer.

    1. Those two rejects could have been sold later. Getting even 1 euro from their transfers would be infinitely more than what Milan will get when Kessie leaves.

      1. Exactly Shiva.
How can any sane person say Kessie did Milan a favour? A change of scene may have worked well for those two rejects and definitely Milan could have sold each for a fee later on.

  2. What I don’t understand is why they don’t move him to Primavera. I mean, he hasn’t even been good this season, it is not like we would bench Theo. Let him train with kids and not play competitive matches for 6 months as he seems to be asking for it. I have been saying that he thinks too high of himself for 2 years now, dude is delusional, thinks he is some kind of a leader and he hasn’t shown that ever. Not a single time.

  3. Milan put themselves in dis situation, n dats why some players will kp taking advantage. If they had bought other quality players in d past, Kessie wld not be feeling like a king now, n holding us ransom. He’d only leave like any other player. We’d still have d same problem wt others in d near future if we continue like dis.

  4. We should hire Brozovic as replacement on free this summer. It will be upgrade to Kessie and Brozovic current salary is just 3.5m.he can play for us some 4good years atleast. He will definitely accept between 5-6.5m salary. It will be a blow for Inter too.
While renato is on and off of the the form, maybe he will do better under Pioli but anyway its a trail if we buy him. Also not a much defensive holding player rather a central player.
Brozovic is the best option, we can use the money to buy a winger, CAM.

  5. Kessie better show up tomorrow and show us why he deserves the money he is asking for, I see two possible scenarios, 1.) he plays the game of his life to show managment he is that good, and showcase his skills to top level teams he wishes to go to this summer. (which is one reason I think Pioli has him in the 10/CAM) OR, 2.) he just shows up and “dogs it”, backing off 50/50 balls like Bakayoko does, not taking any risks to avoid injury, protecting his assets. The old adage, “it is better to dance with the devil you know, than dance with the devil you don’t” what is unusual about that saying is that in this case it rings true for both parties.
