PM: Milan identify €15m Serie A defender as potential Romagnoli replacement

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have identified the man who could come in to replace Alessio Romagnoli in the event that he does not renew his contract, a report claims.

According to the latest from PianetaMilan, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are preparing for the potential exit of Romagnoli even though it seems the club captain wants to renew. There have been no steps forward for the extension of his deal which expires next June and at the moment the chances of the 26-year-old renewing are really minimal.

His agent is Mino Raiola with whom it is never easy to deal, and moreover he already has a very high salary of €5m net per season that is an amount Milan want to reduce given he is not a certain starter.

That is why Gleison Bremer is now a target, the 23-year-old centre-back at Torino who had a battle with Olivier Giroud in the recent league meeting and came away looking very impressive. His contract is due to expire in 2023, which means that next summer could be the last chance for the Granta sell him.

A €15m price tag has been set but in addition to Milan there is also Inter and Roma that are keen on him and are following him closely.
