Tuttosport: Valencia hoping to close signing of Milan winger on loan with option to buy

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are negotiating a deal with Valencia for winger Samu Castillejo that could go through before the window closes, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes that Valencia are pressing to close a deal with Milan for Castillejo before the end of the month, with the 27-year-old Spaniard considered outside the plans of Stefano Pioli and the management, having been so for some time.

The two clubs are working on the basis of a paid loan with an option to buy in what would be a return to the Valencia area for Castillejo, who previously played for their rivals Villarreal before making the switch to Milan in the summer of 2018.

Espanyol and Real Betis are also keen on signing Castillejo, whose contract with the Rossoneri expires in 2023. Time is of the essence though given there are only three days to get the deal over the line, with travel for a medical and other logistics to be factored in.

  1. Option to buy is a bad idea unless it’s a paid loan where they give us about 2m, or it should be obligation to buy or gtfo, we shouldn’t be renting out our players for no real benefit to us, he is getting linked to so many clubs but they all want charity from us, we should be looking at the likes of man u, they hardly let anyone go on loan unless they are getting paid for it.
