TMW: Milan’s Calabria and Juve’s Locatelli leave Italy camp for personal reasons

By Mitchell Wilks -

Davide Calabria has withdrawn from Italy’s final training session along with Manuel Locatelli for personal reasons, according to a report.

Tuttomercatoweb (via MilanNews) report that the pair will miss the last training session of the camp having been allowed to leave, with no suggestion of any injuries being sustained.

The Italian national team hosted a three day training camp at Coverciano, and a statement on their authorised absence is expected from the FIGC following the end of the final session.

Roberto Mancini’s training camp also hosted Mario Balotelli with preparations underway ahead of Italy’s World Cup play-off against North Macedonia in March.

Calabria has had to fight through a number of injury disruptions so far this season, returning in the defeat to Spezia after contracting COVID-19, just after recovering from a calf injury.

The 25-year-old’s absence was felt, with the Rossoneri plagued by injury woes in defence throughout the first half of the season.
