Milan close campaign with over 41k season tickets sold – what remains

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan have closed their sales campaign for the season tickets after an amazing response from the Rossoneri fans. In fact, over 41k tickets were sold and just the VIP packages remain.

The players were always able to count on the support of the fans this past season, even in difficult times, and the Champions League adventure showed how much that meant. It looks like nothing will change for next season, either.

Despite the sacking of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara, the fans were eager to get season tickets for 2023/24 and Milan closed the campaign with 41.5k tickets sold. The only way to get a season ticket now, therefore, is to buy in the hospitality section.

The cheapest ticket in the hospitality section costs €2k and this most people cannot afford it. There’s no doubt that Milan could have sold more season tickets in the other sections but they want to save some seats – around 30k – for general admission (for fans from abroad etc).

  1. If the majority of fans were overly emotional and angry about RedBird like some on here, they would have voted with their wallet and Milan would be the Bud Lite of football. Fortunately the average fan has more common sense than that.

    1. Dejan, most people that go to the matches and buy season tickets are people with kids. They don’t care as long as the club is not super bad and plays in Champions league. I watched Milan during their worse period, there was always spectators. It means nothing.

      1. I would like to see something that supports that most season ticket holders are people with kids. That would imply they are buying 3-4 seats at every home game and that would be quite expensive. Also, anyone with small children will tell you that you are likely to waste many tickets with children because they get sick, tired, and generally have many weekend commitments of their own. Most season sticker holders are individual men between 30-50 who are loyal fans and watch every game rain or shine.

        1. You are talking from personal experience or is that your opinion? I have been to over 100 Milan matches, most spectators are, in fact, families…That is why they sell those family packs when selling season tickets, you can buy additional 3 tickets for minors aka your kids which are cheaper. Whole parts of stands are dedicated for that. Try going to a match, you will see it. But your and Dejans whole point is ridiculous, it doesn’t even make sense. Manchester United wanted their owners out of the club for a long time now, they still supported the club and purchased tickets. Even if the most hard fans didn’t they also have more than enough fans like you to buy tickets. Still they put pressure on the owners when they didn’t like what they did. If Milan had 200k fans I would say, ok. But a club with 4.5M fans in Italy and who knows how many outside of course they will sell 40 000 tickets after being in the semi final of CL this year and winning the Scudetto.

          1. I have been to matches and I also am a parent. Just because you see families at matches regularly doesn’t make them season ticket holders. For most families, an outing like that is very expensive and a once or maybe twice a season occasion. Even with reduced tickets you must park the car, feed the children, and often buy souvenirs. Take five minutes and research, please. Most season tickets are sold to men purchasing 1-2 tickets, not families.

To your point about Man U. The Glazers almost tripled United’s revenues since they took over the club and spent over a billion dollars on transfers; United have the second or third highest player wages in the league. They just have not had the on field success to match their investment.

          2. Ok, sure, no point in discussing this further with you. Unfortunately they don’t give out that data so there is no point.
But the other part you skipped the point and replied something random? The usual from you. I wasn’t talking about the club results, finances or anything. The point is that they still sold tickets, but if what Dejan and you wrote is true they wouldn’t be selling season tickets if the fans didn’t support Glazers? The club didn’t even have results and they hated the owners. Still sold tickets, how? By your idea that can’t happen and only if the fans agree with ownership tickets are sold.

      2. Sold out tickets after the club supposedly disrespected Maldini, threw out a future legend and sold its soul to Wall Street means “nothing”? Okay you didn’t get my point. As usual.

        1. Dude, you aren’t intelligent enough for someone too miss your point. Yes, there will always be 40 000 people that will buy the tickets. When Milan was doing horrible they sold 17 000 tickets, now they are doing good, of course it will be sold. Especially after the club is in semi finals of the Champions league. Even if the fans hate the owners, like at Manchester United.

          1. Aaaaaaand here come the ad hominem attacks….. I don’t know why I’m explaining this again but let’s try one more time. According to you and your doom monger crew, Milan fans going to the stadium should’ve protested the actions of Cardinale and co by not buying as many season tickets as previous years. Whether we’re doing well or not. Instead we sold out. That’s all I’m saying sheesh.

            (Downloading…..more infantile insults in reply)

          2. No Dejan, that is according to you. You literally made up something. When did I say that someone should have protested something by not buying tickets? And I have given you a perfect example that literally negates your point. Manchester United fans hate their owners, they still bought tickets. I am only attacking you because you write stupidity that I never said. You and Flossonero are “famous” for getting the point and giving a reply on that point. Your reply is the perfect example. You made up something to have a point. 😂😂😂😂

          3. But just to focus on this reply, you literally wrote that I didn’t understand your point and I just replied by saying that it is so stupid that anyone could get it and not to think to high of yourself if you think someone could not get that point, just a bit differently. You thinking someone would not get that makes me wonder about your intelligence. That isn’t my fault.

          4. Anyhow, I have to swim for an hour now. Have fun trying to make a point and fake the other side so it sounds better for you. Cheers!

        2. As long as Milan plays in the CL and has a possibility to win the Scudetto it will be sold out. They can sell Maignan, Leao and Theo and that season it will still be sold out. It is because most people are not really really fans and value only success. Why didn’t they buy the tickets when Milan was doing bad?

          1. “When did I say that someone should have protested something by not buying tickets?” Um… when did I say you said that? I’m talking generally about the outrage you doom and gloom Maldinisti lot have expressed – which you’d expected to see reflected in ticket sales, no? Nevermind, Martin.

          2. You literally wrote “according to you”. That is when. You do know what those 3 words mean?

I have told you, regarding tickets, when the club is doing good in Serie A and CL, the tickets are sold. When not, not. That is the only thing reflected in ticket sales and I never wrote something will be reflected, or expected. It is one of the most straightforward things in modern football. People go rogue while the club is not doing good and don’t really support it during that time as much as they do during successful times. 41 000 vs 17 000 season tickets just 5-6 years ago proves it.

          3. I really have to go now, I’m wasting time on this crap and you can’t understand a simple point because you want to keep on about someone saying something and you being right. And it has nothing to do with that as explained. You can find the numbers yourself, I know them approximately, but Milan sold way less season tickets 5-6 years ago, not because someone hated the owner.

    2. Seriously. They’re about 50 years late to start lamenting the corporatization of football. I think most of them just don’t like Americans. Interestingly, I just read an article about Tonali and his GF being absolutely floored at how nice the player accommodations are at Newcastle compared to Milan. When Berlusconi should have been following through on his promise to build a new stadium, he was still shelling out absurd amounts for players to stay competitive. That was what precipitated the so called Banter era under Li. Italian football was so shortsighted and while they reigned supreme, England was making lucrative TV deals all over the globe. It took them just over a decade to catch up and pass Serie A. I for one am excited that whatever may happen on the pitch in the next few seasons, RedBird is going to finally modernize AC Milan. I am confident they will leave it a batter club than they found it.

      1. Agreed. There’s a weird anti American anti money anti reality-of-modern-football vibe with some of these peeps.

    3. Bud Light is no longer the king, you haven’t heard? Modelo Especial is the new king! LOL!!!

You mean it’s not all Doom&Gloom among Milanisti??? 🙂

    4. I know you’re an idiot but not this idiot.

i’m pretty sure not every single Milan fans are live in Italy. So those 41K who bought the tickets are not the representation for every Milan fans in the WORLD.

And the fans can still hate Redbird & Cardinal while still cheers for the club especially the coach & players who aren’t responsible for sacking Maldini and Tonali sold.

      1. Those same fans purchased only 16 000 season tickets when Milan was doing bad. So, if we are using your stupid logic. Fans support successful Milan, not Milan.

    1. You 2 are about the same low IQ level, you fit perfectly. You both love to make stuff up to sound better. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

      1. You haven’t said a single intelligible thing on any thread and consistently prove yourself to not only be unwise, but without grace or humility as well. You are the worst example of a Milan fan.

    2. I’m not even sure why they’re still here if they hate the new owners so much. Some of them said they were withdrawing their support so I wish they’d hurry up and get on with it.

      1. Dude we already know Martin will be eating crown sooner or later whether or not he admits it. Stupid people are surprisingly confident while intelligent folks have their doubts. Anyone who speaks with the absolute arrogance of Martin you can be sure is a couple Modelos short of a six pack

        1. Sure man, I’ll bet you 10 000€ that I have at least 10 more in IQ than you. What do you say? We can do even 1000€ if 10 is too much for you. I doubt you have the courage to prove anything.

          1. Wow l. I couldn’t have thought of a response that would better prove my point!! Thank you, Martin! The gift that keeps on giving!

          2. Hahahahahaha, classic coward reply. Of course, your proved how I am stupid by chickening out of a real thing that can prove your point. I knew you will write that, you didn’t have any balls ever in your life and you just proved I was right.

          3. If you are so sure it is an easy choice for you. You will prove me wrong and make money along the way. 😂😂😂

          4. But I sure am embarrassed that you are such a coward that is afraid to prove their own point when offered a chance. Your only way out is cowardice, that is what you know. Men really are disappearing, you are the living proof.

        2. 💯 did you see that thread where he was calling me a “chicken legged coward” from Montenegro apparently 😆. That’s the level of debate we’re dealing with here.

          1. No, I called you chicken legs, that means the same as only coward. I 100% didn’t call you both of those things at the same time. When you lie or make up stuff I don’t debate, simple as that, same as you did a bit before up in the comments. When you refrained from that I didn’t bother to call you anything, but if you’re a coward that has to make up things to make a point you will be called that. I don’t care about your feelings.

  2. Wow froza milan what woderful season to began been artist culgrin d mayor also a blogger will love to be part of the season by been artist and a blogger i really want reply +2349047133638

  3. If AC Milan have own stadium , that will be great benefit. This american maybe only care about business and capital gain but they are still better if compared with chinese owner that destroy club with debt. Well maybe AC Milan cannot dominant in CL anymore like in the history past but as long as still competitive on serie A that will be make fans coming watching in stadium or watching tv

    1. Exactly, anyone is better than what Li did and as long as the club plays good fans will buy tickets. This is the whole point, when there are results fans are there, when there aren’t you sell 16 000 season tickets.

  4. It’s good to see Milan are geting recognition as such, it got its appeal back. This doesn’t mean whether we have to support owners as well. I support the team, I will go watch the game but I do not support the management and their manouvers. Simple.

  5. Oh and to get you triggered. They sold 41.500 season tickets last season while they already opened waiting list for the season 2023/24. The general sale for season 2023/24 opened on 25th of May. That’s when Maldini and Tonali were still firmly in their seats. I’d do like to know the dynamics of sale from waiting list to sacking of M&M and sale of Tonali.

  6. “The cheapest ticket in the hospitality section costs €2k and this most people cannot afford it.”
Really ? Most ppl can’t afford approx 110 per game in the nice section? Man Europe is weird. I guess there isn’t the consumerism culture over there. But Those prices would get gobbled up on the other side of the ocean. 3000 gets you nose bleeds season basketball tickets
Don’t even get started on the hospitality section

    1. Hard to believe, dejan and flossonero still attacks Maldini Fan for no reason and Martin is getting angry. There should be a limit of everything, everyone has opinion..either we agree in 3/4 post or just leave it alone.

      1. Yea.i think that makes sense…the 3/4 posts rule. Because sometimes ppl don’t read other ppls post and then replies from out of left field and then u have to steer the convo back to ur original point. See how I replied with something that’s directly related to ur post 😁
