The contract offer that AC Milan have presented to Rafael Leao has not changed but there is growing optimism that he will be extending his spell with the club, a report claims.
As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, the Portuguese forwards appears to be closer to signing a new contract now as the January transfer window fast approaches.
His current deal is going to expire in June 2024, which means that January or the following summer window would be the last chance to sell him for a sizeable transfer fee.
The renewed optimism does not seem to be down to a fresh offer from Milan though. They are still offering the former Lille man €6.5 million per season to renew his contract.
On top of that salary, there would be bonuses to earn which will boost his earnings and make him more likely to stay at the club for more than one more season.
