Yacine Adli

Tuttosport: Milan could change their plans for Adli as Pioli continues to not use him

AC Milan could change their plans for Yacine Adli as he continues to get no playing time, according to a report.

The stance on Adli has fluctuated over the past few weeks as it first seemed as though he would be allowed to leave during the month of January to get more consistent playing time at another club through a loan spell, but then multiple sources stated that the management have decided to keep him at Milan for the second half of the season.

According to reports from Tuttosport (via MilanNews) this morning, Adli’s departure was not in the plans of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara, but he did not get even a single minute of the 120+ played against Torino in the Coppa Italia.

That continued a trend of Stefano Pioli not using the playmaker, and thuse the club could review its plans and decide to send him to play somewhere else on loan.

  1. I think that Adli deserves a chance …. but then there must be something about this lad that we do not know about … is he tactically indisciplined? Is he unable to fit in the milan style of play? Is he still raw for italian soccer? Does he lack a correct vision of play? Is he a good tackler/good retriever of the ball? Whatever it is, any defects in adli’s play should be corrected straightaway so that he too may contribute in the coming months

      1. Adli and CdK are no milan naterial either. Can’t believe you think they should have a chance. Then we better go back to 2015…..

    1. Predictable? Did you see his passes in the pre-season? Based on those matches, I’d say he’s the most unpredictable and creative player in the whole squad. He tries passes that no one else even dreams of. 😀

  2. dude may not be world class, but he got that little spark in every friendlies. tho playing friendlies not the same as playing a competitive match. his performance in those game should earned him some trust to play as back up sub at the last 20 or 10 minutes of game. and if that’s still hard for him to get, just let him go somewhere. i don’t see what’s good holding young player just to sit on the bench. a primavera player which is like a part timer maybe has it for easing up to the professional match environment. so have a seat in game time to time would be fine. but adli is not in that frame. he is in the “at least play some couple minutes or so frequently” frame. a loan should work. just make sure he got the minutes to play. and we can assess his worth later.

  3. CDK and Diaz get chance after change and are both for the most part unimpressive, yet Adli gets one start doesn’t do great and he’s stuck on the beach forever? Strange. I could see if CDK or Diaz were playing lights out but they are not and we need someone to provide service to Giroud. Give the kid a chance.
