AC Milan have made the decision to sell Theo Hernandez in the summer transfer window, a report claims, and England could be his destination.
According to CaughtOffside, Milan ‘have decided to offload’ Theo during the summer, with Manchester City monitoring the situation closely as well as his former club Real Madrid, who he joined from back in 2019.
The Rossoneri could do with a big sale ‘to generate funds for the transfer window’ given that Champions League qualification is now out of reach. In addition to that, renewal talks with Theo have ‘completely stalled’ and Geoffrey Moncada spoke of a desire not to let anyone leave for free.
Milan did make an offer to extend his deal and yet the Frenchman declined it. Now, his poor performances, combined with having just one year left on his contract in June, make a sale ‘the best option for all parties’.
It is believed that Theo ‘would prefer a return to Spain, with Real Madrid as his ideal destination’. Los Blancos ‘have already approached the player and further contacts are expected in the coming weeks’ too, but Manchester City are keen on exploring a €35-40m deal.
This lower price has also attracted the attention of other Premier clubs, such as Everton. Milan can no longer demand the €50m they wanted, though it seems that Theo has plenty of suitors.
I heard from people in comments that nobody wants him. He will end up at City and Milan will be the fool that sold him for 30M. Great
He’s on an expiring contract, and is valued at €50m. His value has dropped massively due to his poor performance and immaturity. Reijnders, Leao and Pulisic are currently the most highly valued players in the squad with Reijnders sitting at €50m on a new 5 year contract which would push his value to +€80m in the event of sale, Leao is valued at €75m and Pulisic’s contract expires in 2027 and is Valued at 50m which should put him around 70m in the event of sale right now.
No one values rejinders 80+ m
Sell for 30m or lose him for free. Easy choice
There is another option called sign a new contract.
No there isn’t when the players refuses the offers.
Un mercenario… Faltan 3(LEAO, MIKE, MUSAH)
Foolish to sell Theo. We have seen him play for many years now. He is one of worlds best LB. Makes no sense. Theo obviously should earn more money. Milan has not the capacity to give the players what they deserve. Theo is one of them, unfortunately. Milan can only wish to ever sign a player of his stature. Keep saying sell Theo but I can promise you guys will never see a player this god as our LB.
never see a player this good?? you can say that if you are talking about Paolo Maldini. Has Theo been good? yes, is he good at the moment? no, and if there was no agreement on a contract extension and he could leave for free next year, the smart thing to do is sell him this summer. With a sale of 35-40 M you could go to the market and get a replacement. Also let´s remember that Theo has been good in offense, as attacking full back, but has poor defensive game.
Wake up dude. Did your time stopped after ACM scudetto ?, did you watch ACM match this season? He is not even the best LB in Serie A anymore. With just 1 years contract and he refuse to renew, do you want him go free transfer ? Nobody want to buy him 50m euro above anymore
He is having a shocker this season, but he also has consistent output for the previous 3 or 4 seasons.
He’s also rarely had any summer off, and is playing one of the most physically intensive positions on the pitch and in a team that’s struggling all around. I think if I were another team, I’d have a little scepticism, but I’d also be confident in him returning to his normal levels with a full summer break and a new challenge motivation.
Sadly, we’ve (again) missed a window to make the most of it, but it’s still going to be a significant sale… sadly, that money is going to need to offset the UCL losses instead of reinvesting in the team.
The lack of rest and backup options here drained him for sure. He will be at his best elsewhere and they will regret selling him and not renewing.
Renewing was never possible, the decision has always been sell him or use him. If we think might be back to his best next season it might well be worth keeping him if the alternative if 30M, he could be worth UCL qualification alone if he’s at his best. Depends if there’s a good replacement lined up.
Ever wondered why Theo isn’t at his level? It’s not that his feet has stop working. It’s a mental/motivation thing, just as it is with Leao, Mike, Tomori, Bennacer you name them.
Imagine you working for a company for many years, booking positive results, receiving amazing feedback, the atmosphere is just great. Than a new boss comes in, instead of building on what the previous boss did, he changes everything, he does not value you as your previous boss did, friends of you leave, the atmosphere is DEAD. Would you still be motivated, would your work still be at the same quality? Probably not.
The problem is not our players, so replacing our stars with average players (because that’s what we’ll get) will not solve anything, in contrary. We all know where the real changements have to be made
Absolutely agree,, change everything until nothing left from milan last scudetto team it is what happen right now. Why it is happening of course because redbird and his brainless president and he is still trying to do something just to say he is smart and have a brain but of course it just opposite
Well said 🤚
He still have 4goals, 3assists this season even after worse season of his career.
If you see Lazio left back nuno Tavares, he’s more dangerous than Theo with not much media bluffs…
Nobody notice the big difference in the midfield.
When Tonali, Kessie, Krunic were at the team, they will help Theo.
Now, no help from Reijndes. That’s the big difference for Theo’s current performance.
It would be nice to see Theo at Madrid or City… this club is sick, every summer, there is a revolution and overhauling… The fans are crap, senseless and stupid.
Zlatan and Moncada are just Internet and paper warriors
People defending him definitely dont actually watch any games. The guy has been rivaling Emerson for our worst player this year. He is quite literally caught out of position 11 times a game, and refuses to sprint back and help defend (HIS MAIN JOB). You can make as many excuses as you want and reminisce on 3 years ago til you cry, doesn’t change reality. He currently averages a 4/10 every match and is often one of the main reasons we concede goals. The past no longer matters, if he refuses to try for the team, he can’t play on it. End of
IAN , AGREE 100%
And let’s be honest here… He has donated even more goals to opponents than the horrible, horrible Emerson. Sad but true.
Probably more of the case that he no longer wants ACM.
If he’s not performing then that does not constitute a pay rise.
For the sake of Mr Hernandez, he now needs a fresh challenge.
Furlani: “the current milan, not like paolo maldini era. We will not let player go for free. It is a sin to let player go for free. You can saw, we sell our former captain just for 2 million before his 6 month expiring contract. Management is smart we get 2 million profit.”
Hahaha.. 2m profit he said it’s smart thing ?? Please bro, we can see furlani mentality with his ambition or he should learn football business.. he should learn from transfer guru: galliani, morata / Umberto agnelli
i don’t mind selling theo but the thing that gets me worried is the replacement as i’m sure milan would buy a nobody
I would sell him for the best value that it will come he is not suitable for Milan anymore.better than leave him on the bench and leave for free
Sell Theo for 40, buy Tavares for 40+10.
Big upgrade
There are also several players Milan can release and sell and replace with own products since they are useless anyway
Sell Emerson and release Florenzi, already replaced with Walker and Jimenez as backup
Sell Jovic, already replaced by Camarda
Sell R-L-C and dont extend with Felix and replace with Zeroli and Liberali
Sell Theo and buy Tavares and make Bartesaghi the no1 backup.
Camarda, Zeroli, Liberali and Bartesaghi should all be given minutes regularly so they dont stop developing or move elsewhere
Finally !!!
Sell all the best players with minimum effort on the pitch please. So Milan have a room to his wage budget. With no UCL football next season ( I guess ), the best option to rebuild the squad it’s sell the players before buy another.
