Journalist on Milan target De Ketelaere: “Prospect player that Maldini and Massara like so much”

Italian broadcast journalist Riccardo Mancini has said that Charles De Ketelaere is the sort of player that Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara really like.

Speaking during an interview with Milan News, the DAZN journalist spoke about the Belgian youngster that AC Milan are known to be very keen on signing this summer.

Mancini believes that the Club Brugge midfielder has exactly the sort of skill-set that technical director Maldini and sporting director Massara are looking for.

“Everyone has spoken highly of him and every time I’ve seen him he’s made a great impression on me. He represents the identikit of the prospect player that Maldini and Massara like so much.”

Another player that the Rossoneri are known to be looking very seriously at this summer is Hakim Ziyech.

Mancini also believes that he would be a perfect fit for what Milan currently want to add to the squad.

“A player who was initially foggy but has refined a lot. With Tuchel he literally exploded and would fit in perfectly with Stefano Pioli’s game starting wide or, in any case, from the three-quarter up.”

Signing players like these ahead of other more wealthy clubs requires you to have a different sort of attraction and Mancini believes that the Rossoneri’s tock around Europe is high right now and it always has been.

“High, but it always has been. Internationally, Milan has remained Milan even in the darkest years. Now it’s back to winning in Italy, the club wants to grow, and public opinion knows that Milan is one of the great footballing poles of Europe and the world. There is always a certain reverence in that sense.”
