Milan dealt transfer blow by striker target: “I have everything I need”

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s hopes of signing Akor Adams from Montpellier in January have been dealt a blow as the striker has suggested he is in no hurry to move.

Adams is one of the centre-forward options that Milan have been heavily linked with over the past few weeks as they look to bolster their attacking options in the January transfer window.

However, Adams only arrived at Montpellier during the most recent summer window from Norwegian side Lillestrøm after having already played half a season with them. He has adapted well, scoring seven goals in 11 Ligue 1 games so far this season.

Adams was interviewed by AllezPaillade and he was asked about how he is finding life at Montpellier so far, certainly not hinting at any desire to change clubs again any time soon.

“I am happy with my current situation and where I am. It is a good environment to grow as a young player. I have everything I need here in Montpellier. I am happy with my decision to come to a club that takes care of me I have an excellent group around me, I’m satisfied,” he said.

“I’m young and I rest as much as possible. I do what I have to do. I played 17 games before arriving at the MHSC, physically speaking it’s a lot, but here we have one of the best medical staff.

“I’m there for everything what we need and I take care of myself as much as possible. I think I can continue like this.”

Adams then spoke about how he is finding life in France after his experience in Scandinavia.

“Ligue 1 is a much more important league. It is in the ‘top five’ in Europe. The intensity of the game is not the same as in Norway, Physically the matches demand a lot. Furthermore, everyone can beat everyone. It’s special! The quality of the players is also different.”
