CorSera: Milan defence and attitude showed signs of recovery against Tottenham

By Euan Burns -

The AC Milan defence showed clear signs of getting back towards its best against Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League as the Rossoneri performed with heart, a report claims.

As has been reported by Corriere della Sera (Milan News), Milan fans may be able to count on the backline not to concede at the alarming rate that they have been in recent weeks.

Stefano Pioli stuck with his back three but with Fikayo Tomori ruled out, he started Pierre Kalulu, Simon Kjaer and Malick Thiaw in the three, with Alexis Saelemaekers and Theo Hernandez as the wingbacks.

Thiaw was particularly impressive during the 1-0 victory at San Siro and now the Rossoneri have got a superb chance to make it into the Champions League quarter-final.

The general attitude showed by the Milan players seemed more in keeping with last season’s form which further exhibits the idea that they may have turned a corner.
