Milan defender Rodriguez drops hint over future: “I want to play”

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan full-back Ricardo Rodriguez has commented on his future amid speculation linking him with a move away from the club.

Theo Hernandez arrived for €20m from Real Madrid over the summer, and a combination of that and his own poor form has seen Rodriguez start the last three games on the bench.

The 27-year-old has been at Milan for two years now and has made 92 appearances in all competitions, but he has been repeatedly linked with an exit throughout.

Earlier on Thursday, Swiss-German language outlet Blick claimed that the Switzerland international is ‘unsettled’ with five clubs monitoring his situation.

The report stated that the quintet is Atletico Madrid, Schalke, Dortmund, Everton and Roma, and Rodriguez has hinted that he doesn’t intend to remain on the bench for long.

“Just because I have not played in the last three games, that does not mean anything,” he told Swiss outlet AZ.

“Everything can always change. I can not tell you how my career will continue. But I can say that I am a player who always wants to play.”
