MN: Milan defender returns to training and is fit to face Spurs

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan defender Matteo Gabbia has returned to full training with the rest of the group and is going to be fit to play a role against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night, a report claims.

As has been reported by Milan News, the Italian defender returned to the full training session with the rest of the group following his issues with flu.

He missed the trip to Florence due to flu but it seems it will not keep him out any longer and he will travel with the rest of the squad.

He is not expected to start the game with Stefano Pioli favouring a back three of Fikayo Tomori, Pierre Kalulu and Malick Thiaw. That being said, having options from the bench will be important should there be injuries or Milan are protecting their narrow advantage in the closing stages of the contest.

They have a 1-0 lead in the Champions League round of 16 tie.
