MN: Milan aiming to secure discount for Real Madrid playmaker despite imminent renewal

By Oliver Fisher -

Brahim Diaz is currently enjoying a role as the starting attacking midfielder for AC Milan but his future remains a mystery, a report claims.

MilanNews write how Brahim Diaz was the first Milan player to score a goal in the Champions League knockout stages since Ricardo Kakà in March 2014, and he has now reached 105 appearances in 3 years with the Rossoneri, amassing 16 goals and 10 assists in total, with 4 goals this season.

He is currently in his third year on loan from Real Madrid, which has been made up of an initial one-year loan and then a two-year loan agreed in summer 2021. In the summer Maldini and Massara will re-discuss his permanent purchase because they do not intend to pay the €22m previously agreed.

The directors will therefore try to negotiate from scratch, but in the meantime Brahim is set to sign contract renewal with Real Madrid club until 2027, with his existing contract expiring in 2025 and the new deadline set to be 2027.

However, Milan’s will remains clear: to try buy the Spaniard permanently at the best possible price. The relationship between the two clubs is excellent and a meeting is scheduled for next week.
