CM: An €8m investment who is decisive in several roles – Milan eagerly awaiting Adli’s arrival

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan acted ahead of time to secure the signing of Yacine Adli and then left him on loan at Bordeaux for the season, with the management now planning for his arrival.

Bordeaux dropped to last place in Ligue 1 yesterday, but Calciomercato.com reports that Adli continues to show that he is an important investment by Paolo Maldini, Ricky Massara and Geoffrey Moncada and a resource for the future.

He played for 65 minutes against Monaco and he was tried out wide in a 4-4-2 lined up by head coach David Guion, with the aim being to concede fewer goals given that they have the worst defense in France.

Even moved onto the left flank he was still decisive, getting an assist for Oudin’s goal as the score ended 1-1. Milan know that he is a player capable of playing as an attacking midfielder or in the double pivot, but there are indications he could possibly also play out wide if needed.

Either way, Stefano Pioli will welcome a player in June who has flexibility and reliability. There was talk about bringing his arrival forward to January but it did not happen because of economic reasons, given the agreements made previously between the two clubs and because Bordeaux are at risk of dropping to Ligue 2.

Adli is a player who can play the number eight role (box-to-box), the number 10 role (playmaker) but perhaps also as a number eleven (winger) – not bad for a player who cost €8m plus bonuses.

  1. Ok so the problem isn’t the forward but central defense in bordeaux. And perhaps he could shave his hair like kessie being bald thus affecting the performance.

  2. From what the Management demands from Adli what they have tried to make Krunic do all season…. I hope he can fill in as a Goalkeeper too. What a joke!
