CM: Milan and Empoli begin talks over loan deal for young striker

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan and Empoli are in talks over a loan deal for striker Lorenzo Colombo ahead of next season, according to a report.

Daniele Longo’s latest video for Calciomercato.com reports how Colombo started the season well for SPAL in Serie B having been sent there on loan for the 2021-22 season but he has found less playing time in recent weeks as they have changed formation.

He will return to Milan at the end of the season and then appears likely to head back out on loan so he can keep getting the minutes needed to develop into more of a ready-made striker for the Rossoneri.

Empoli have stepped forward with concrete interest as they prepare for another season in the top flight. They will lose Andrea Pinamonti ahead of 2022-23 so they want to replace him, and Colombo is the man they have set their sights on.

Talks are underway between the two clubs and for the time being they are only about Colombo rather than any other players amid reports Milan are interested in left-back Fabiano Parisi to be Theo Hernandez’s new deputy and forward Nedim Bajrami.
