CorSport: Milan expected to pay €3m and continue Pobega-style path for striker

AC Milan are keeping an eye on Lorenzo Colombo’s development at Lecce and the current plan is to bring him back next summer, a report claims.

As reported by this morning’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it), the Milan management are continuing to closely follow Colombo during his loan spell at Lecce where so far he seems to have impressed.

The young striker was sent on loan to the Salento club until the end of the season, but Maldini and Massara are hoping for a Pobega-style path for him given the midfielder gained experience with Torino last season before returning to the Rossoneri on a permanent basis.

However, Colombo is not on a simple dry loan. Lecce have a €2.5m option to buy on the 20-year-old which they would obviously trigger if he keeps scoring, but Milan secured a €3m buy-back which they can activate to ensure he remains part of the squad from next summer and also gives Lecce a small development fee.
