AC Milan face a transfer battle with Fiorentina to land River Plate sensation Julian Alvarez in January, according to a report.
There is just something quite magical about Julian Alvarez. After he scored a match-winning brace against Boca Juniors earlier in the season and netted a hat-trick against San Lorenzo when Milan scouts were present, he scored four goals for River at the weekend in in their 5-0 win against Patronato, taking him to 15 goals in 16 league matches.
This morning’s edition of Florence-based newspaper La Nazione (via MilanNews) takes a look at Fiorentina’s transfer targets for the January transfer window, confirming that Alvarez is indeed a player that could come in to provide a boost for the attacking department.
Milan have also set their eyes on the 21-year-old Argentina international but Fiorentina, thanks to the mediation of Burdisso, have started semi-official contacts with River. They are hoping to beat the Rossoneri to his signing, which would cost around €20m.
