GdS: Pioli grants the squad two days off and hopes to recover two players for Fiorentina trip

By Oliver Fisher -

Milan boss Stefano Pioli is hoping to welcome back two players tomorrow in view of the trip to Fiorentina on Saturday, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes that Pioli has granted two days of rest to his players, who will return to work at Milanello on Tuesday afternoon to begin preparations for the game against La Viola at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

When training does resume tomorrow, the Milan boss hopes to have both Alessio Romagnoli and Samu Castillejo back with the rest of the group, and they are aiming to be part of the squad for the away match in Florence.

It will certainly give Pioli a few more options as Romagnoli has been a key part of the defensive rotations this season while Castillejo can provide some cover for the right side, and it is also worth remembering that Florenzi and Messias recently returned.
