GdS: Milan and Fiorentina could discuss swap deal between winger and midfielder

AC Milan could be set for more negotiations with Fiorentina ahead of the summer, and the possibility of a swap deal is being floated.

As a reminder, Milan and Fiorentina have completed two operations in the past few months. Firstly, Yacine Adli joined La Viola on a loan deal with an option to buy during the summer transfer window, then in the winter mercato Riccardo Sottil went the other way via the same formula.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanPress), there is the idea that a permanent exchange deal could well be discussed involving Sottil and Adli. Both players have buy-out options at around €11m, which means that the valuations are not too far off.

It is therefore possible that the two will remain at their current clubs beyond the summer window, with the Diavolo and Fiorentina expected to sit down and talk about the futures of the winger and the midfielder.

Sottil was in some ways the surprise signing of the winter window in the sense that he had not been linked by any media outlet until deadline day. Then, things moved quickly and he arrived to ultimately replace Noah Okafor, who headed to Napoli on loan with an option to buy.

  1. Bring Adli back.
Milan needs a midfielder like Adli.
Adli and Saelemaekers should be brought back.
If Milan likes Sottil then just buy him but don’t give up Adli

    1. Idiots probably needs some cash money. They will lose 100 million in next season so sales are necessary. They can’t sell easily Adli, so they will do exchange- Sottil for Adli, but to “create” money virtually They will show it will be 10 million each transfer.

    1. They needed another Italian to comply with regulations after Calabria left. It’s another Terracciano-esque buy. They don’t care about quality when it comes to Italians. Just to comply.

  2. I rather get Adli back over a player who’s not yet played a single game.

Heck, bring back Alexis, Bennacer, and Pobega because i’m sure they are more useful than Sottil, Fofana, Musah, and RLC.

  3. This deos not make sens at all. Swaping Adli with a player that never plays!!! What the hell are they doing…. Please somebody replace these incompetent management because they will destroy our Milan…

  4. I see the commenters are just as clueless as the board. Adli was getting crucified, and now suddenly everyone wants him back. Newsflash people: no matter who comes to Milan now, we’re gonna be trash, because the environment is so toxic and the board is clueless. It is what it is.

    1. Exactly. I see some of the people crucifying Adli then wanting him now.

Anyway only a brain dead management would give a way a midfielder of Adli potential, especially given now that we need to give Reijnders rest away for another untested winger.

But then again this is Milan’s management. So the potential for stupidity is not very high. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
