Tuttosport: Milan aim to secure future option on two Spezia stars in Caldara talks

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are close to formalising the exit of Mattia Caldara to Spezia but they have asked for something unusual as part of the deal, a report claims.

According to Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan), Caldara is expected to join Spezia during the coming week and while the formula has not been specified, it is worth remembering that his contract with Milan expires in 2023 and so without a renewal a new loan deal would take him to his expiry.

In exchange for Caldara – who has played only two times for Milan in the 2018-19 season before sustaining serious injuries – the Rossoneri management asked Spezia for a preferential lane on two players they consider to be interesting profiles for the future.

The first is Jakub Kiwior, a 22-year-old Polish player who can play either as a defensive midfielder or as a centre-back. The second is Kelvin Amian, a 24-year-old French right-back who signed for Spezia from Toulouse last summer.
