Milan Futuro vs Pescara

Milan Futuro 2-3 Pescara: Red card decisive again as the Rossoneri waste lead

Milan Futuro suffered a very disappointing defeat against Pescara thus afternoon, despite being 2-1 up in the second half. Just like last week, a red card ended up playing a key role in the outcome of the clash.

After the defeat against Pianese last week, which included a red card for Michele Camporese, Daniele Bonera and his players needed to bounce back today. Unfortunately, while it looked good at times against Pescara, they ended up losing again.

Francesco Camarda gave Milan the lead in the 6th minute with a great finish, having brought down a ball over the top with his back heel. Clearly, he can do a lot of good for the team in Serie C and should probably be used more often, rather than spending most of his time on the first-team bench.

However, in the 18th minute, Andrei Coubis committed a pretty obvious foul in the box on a corner and the referee pointed to the spot. The penalty was safely converted by Accursio Bentivegna and it was back to square one for the Rossoneri.

Ten minutes into the second half, it was Milan’s time to make the most of a corner. Simone Branchi sent the ball in for Ettore Quirini, who flicked it to Coubis. The Romanian international got some redemption as he restored the lead with an easy header.

In the 70th minute, Pescara converted a corner once again as Riccardo Brosco found a pocket of space in the box. It was a tidy finish that Lorenzo Torriani could do nothing about, and the away side gained a lot of momentum from this goal.

Things went from bad to worse seven minutes later as Davide Bartesaghi was handed his second yellow card of the game after a silly foul. The first yellow card was also a bad one, complaining about the penalty that Pescara got in the first half.

The red card made things very difficult and in the 87th minute, Pescara completed the set-piece hat-trick as a free-kick reached Edoardo Lancini at the back post. Questions can be asked about the defending, but it was a good header.

As such, Bonera’s side suffered another defeat and seeing as they had the lead, it was certainly a bad way to do it.

  1. So Bartesaghi spent some time with the senior team and got infected with their attitude.
Reminds me of Football Manager, when a player’s personality turns bad after training with other players with bad personality traits. Seems like they got that dynamic spot on…
