Former AC Milan goalkeeper Simone Braglia has labelled Stefano Pioli as the best coach in Serie A right now.
Speaking during an interview with TMW Radio (via Milan News), Braglia spoke in glowing terms about Milan’s project as they get closer to their first Serie A since 2011.
“Milan is ahead of Inter because it has continuity and a project that was born before the pandemic. It has had a technical process that has involved the whole club, especially the technical department,” Braglia said.
He then went on to pay Pioli the ultimate compliment that any manager in the Italian top-flight can hope to be given.
“For me the best coach in the league is Pioli, considering the pressures there are in a place like Milan,” he said.
Milan have been on a commanding run of form despite having a fixture list to end the season which looked as though it could cause some serious problems.
The win over Atalanta at the weekend means they just need one point against Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium on Sunday to secure the title at Inter’s expense.
It is expected that Pioli will stick to his guns and pick the same starting eleven that beat La Dea 2-0 at San Siro. Theo Hernandez and Rafael Leao were the goalscorers that day.
