GdS: Milan to be backed by huge away support vs. Lazio as Curva Nord protest

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan face Lazio tonight at the Stadio Olimpico but it will feel like somewhat of a home game given the ticket sales so far, a report claims.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes this morning, there will be 25,000 spectators at the Olimpico which is more than Lazio expected to sell, but the substantial difference will be in the stands because the away end is sold out (9,000 tickets) and another 2-3,000 Rossoneri fans will scattered throughout the stadium.

The Curva Nord will be empty which is another bonus for the Milan players given their efforts to make the Olimpico a difficult place for opposing teams to play in. They are currently at loggerheads with president Claudio Lotito over the prices for tickets at home games.

In what is a must-win game, the Milan squad can look forward to another tremendous backing from their magnificent away fans in the capital.
