CorSera: Milan’s search for Ibrahimovic’s heir put on hold until the summer

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s search for a new striker will be put on hold until the summer transfer window and only one signing is expected this month, a report claims.

The Rossoneri management are focusing on signing a new centre-back to help cover the absence of Simon Kjaer, but there continues to be rumours that a forward could arrive if the right opportunity were to arise before the end of the month.

According to il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara do indeed have one eye on the situation concerning Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s eventual successor – given that he is 40 – but Milan are unlikely to do anything other than sign a defender in January.

The current market should therefore be a bit quiet, but come the summer a move could be made for one of the names that has been linked such as Beto or Luis Muriel.

  1. Sign Belotti for free. And we also have Colombo. Rebic was great at the position at the very beginning of the season. He played a little back, even as a second AMF so it created plenty of space for Brahim to do his job. I think that’s the reason why Diaz is struggling now.

  2. Darwin Nunez would be a worthy player. But if we cannot afford his transfer now, take Belotti. Beto is worse, would cost more which diminishes budget for future striker

  3. End this nonsense and spend big on Vlahovic. Period. Belotti isn’t world class. We need a world class striker for CL. Giroud and Ibra as backups.
