TMW: Milan table a renewal offer to Ibrahimovic but the striker is stalling – the situation

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have decided to offer a new contract to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but they are reportedly not expecting an answer any time soon.

TMW report that even before the January transfer window closed, the Rossoneri spoke to the player about extending his deal for another year until June 2023 because they are aware his charismatic presence represents something more than what he can give on the pitch.

He is also decisive in action too with 8 goals this season in 15 appearances, but for Ibra the problem is not so much the economic side of things (he currently earns €7m net) but a physical one, because his injury problems are beginning to rack up in number.

He does not want to leave a faded memory which is why he will give an answer to Milan only in the last few weeks of the season to the offer on the table from the Rossoneri management, which is around €2.5m net. A renewal will come only if the striker is physically well, and if he is intact enough to be able to play another season at good levels.

    1. Why will U talk to Ibrahimovic like this, do U know what he as done for us, I know Milan as to have young players but U don’t have to talk to Ibrahimovic like that.

    2. What?! that guy bring us back from the dead 2 seasons ago.
Did you see how arrogant we are at Salerno? we NEED him! Our team are so young they get big headed after the derby. Invest in young player? we have an enormous youth batch! what we need is a leader! and not every veteran have this leadership, only a handful of them have these kinds of trait, and (again) looking back 2 seasons ago, Ibra have it! I’m all in on investing on youth, but if we’re gonna play 11 under 23 guys at every match, we will be lucky if we’re on the top 4.
stop playing FM, watch our team play, if you still want another young player investment, you can go back to FM

  1. He should really be joining the coaching staff as a first step towards a managerial career. His longevity has been amazing, but all good things come to an end.

  2. We need Zlatan as a mentor for the young players in the squad, he don’t need to play much, but just to give them that killer instinct mentality.

  3. If Ibra can accept his body can’t handle 90 minute’s of Serie A, then Ibra as a sub will be a nightmare for 99% of defences in Italy and Europe.
Fact is we missed him and Kjaer’s leadership and influence against Salernitana.

Giroud + Belotti/Raspadori + Ibra will be dangerous.

Lazetic probably on loan next season with Colombo.
