Vitiello: Milan in negotiations over De Ketelaere – the aim is to lower the asking price

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are pushing ahead with their attempts to sign Charles De Ketelaere from Club Brugge, according to one journalist.

Anto Vitiello of MilanNews is reporting on Twitter that new confirmations have arrived regarding Milan’s pursuit of De Ketelaere. He adds that the aim of the management is to lower the demands of the Belgian club quickly as a precursor to hopefully closing the operation.

Vitiello also mentions that the 21-year-old is viewed as a signing for the playmaker role, one where Stefano Pioli struggled to find consistency from Brahim Diaz and Franck Kessie last season, but De Ketelaere can also play on the right wing if necessary.

There is some information on Alessandro Florenzi too: the Rossoneri are moving towards an agreement with Roma with a discount on the option to buy agreed last summer between the clubs. The dialogue is ‘progressing well’ as per the journalist.

  1. Why would Brugge give us a discount? He has 2-3 years left on his deal? This is BS. I also don’t believe he will cost anything less than 45-55M. Too many clubs want him. I hope I’m wrong but cannot see Brugge selling us CDK for a discount or selling us Lang AND CDK at a discount.

  2. Vitiello is the most reliable source we have out there, so that negotiations are ongoing, that is for certain. For me, this is a dream signing. But I agree, it is not going to be easy. The price may be lowered if the player really insists on leaving for Milan.

  3. Exclusive transcript of the negotiations…

    Milan: “how much for CDK?”

Brugge: “35-45m euros, depending how you structure it”

Milan: “how about we take him on loan for a year, and if he’s not injured or terrible we pay 5m?”

Brugge: [pretend to be out, call West Ham]

Milan: “I’m sure they’ll agree any day now”

    1. 35 would be a bargain, i think 40 is fair, maybe +5m bonuses.
But yeah, that is perfect description of how we negotiate
