GdS: Milan in talks over playing a game at Yankee Stadium as part of partnership

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s collaboration with the New York Yankees is already underway and talks are on over playing a game at Yankee Stadium, a report claims.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Gerry Cardinale said he was ‘cautiously optimistic’ about the fact that Milan will have a new stadium, which is one of the priorities for the new ownership just as it was for Elliott Management.

Cardinale’s plan is to use his knowledge to drive exposure and increase revenues through a series of strategic partnerships, such as the one between Milan and the New York Yankees, the most valuable franchise in Major League Baseball.

The two clubs have started selling each other’s merchandising in their respective stadiums, and YES Network broadcasts Milan matches. The organisation of a Rossoneri game at Yankee Stadium is also underway, showing the commitment to making things more than just an on-paper agreement.
