GdS: Milan join Inter in the race for Scamacca with Massara leading the charge

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are on the lookout for the centre-forward of the future and they have joined rivals Inter in the race for Gianluca Scamacca, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports how Scamacca’s exploits have attracted the attention of several clubs. Inter have been keen on him for a while, but among the admirers of the young striker there is also Milan, particularly sporting director Frederic Massara who knows him very well from his time at Roma.

Scamacca is being followed closely also by clubs abroad, but his will is to stay in Italy. Inter have been chasing him for months but have not yet started a real negotiation with Sassuolo, but the Rossoneri are starting from a position a bit behind that of their neighbours.

The 23-year-old spent last season out on loan at Genoa and has now come back into the fold with Sassuolo, scoring 10 goals in the league already this season.
