Messaggero: Milan and Inter watching Sarri’s situation amid tension at Lazio

By Oliver Fisher -

Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri has entered AC Milan’s radar as a potential replacement for Stefano Pioli, according to a report.

According to Il Messaggero (via The Laziali), Sarri could leave Lazio at the end of the season after what would be two years in charge due to the tension that has come about between the former Napoli boss and sporting director Igli Tare.

Both Inter and Milan are monitoring the situation of the 64-year-old as per the newspaper, and could well be ready to pounce if he does indeed decide to leave the capital and try a new challenge.

There has been mounting pressure on Pioli after a terrible start to 2023 which has seen three trophy targets for the season vanish and just two wins in nine games, while Simone Inzaghi – who Inter got from Lazio – has also come under fire for a season which has been quite up and down for the Nerazzurri.

  1. I also think we’ll keep Pioli, but I’d be very happy with Sarri. His sides play football (or try to), as opposed to “give it to Leao and Theo” and hope for the best. Rafa Benitez is also available and may be an interesting choice, as is Andre Villas-Boas.

  2. no money for Pioli release,
    no money for Sarri salary,
no money to buy good player for new coach,
if Pioli resign it’ll be Abate.
redbird still owe 500m to Elliot mean 50m/season transfer budget for next 5 seasons, the best we can get is freeby & below 10m not ready (or never) players
