MN: Milan ready to invest in the attack – latest on Chelsea, Real Madrid and Club Brugge trio

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are looking to boost the quality of the attacking department and there are three names above all in their sights, a report claims.

MilanNews report that Milan could allocate most of the spending to the attacking midfielder role after the deal for Sven Botman fell through and he decided to join Newcastle United. The names of Hakim Ziyech and Marco Asensio are both confirmed as targets, but neither will be easy to sign.

Real Madrid’s demand for the Spaniard is over €25m and that is deemed high for a player with just one year on his contract and no sign of a possible renewal, while the operation is further complicated by the fact Asensio wants €6-7m net per season from his next club.

For Ziyech the formula would be a loan but the club must study the best way to capitalise on the Growth Decree tax relief scheme given that two-year loans have been abolished. A partial contribution from Chelsea on his salary would be needed, and the parties are at work.

Finally, there will soon be a new discussion with the agents of Charles De Ketelaere of Club Brugge, who continues to unite the management in terms of agreement on his profile, but the Belgian side must lower their demands.

  1. OK, so TLDR: no agreement with any player or club.

    – Asensio Milan won’t pay the fee or wages, he’ll probably stay at Madrid but might go to England
    – Ziyech may be affordable if Chelsea pay a chunk of his wage, but currently it’s not sure if they’d rather do that or keep him (may depend on Sterling’s transfer)
    – CDK Milan can’t afford probably, he’ll go to England

The Premier League continues to ruin European football
