Mundo Deportivo: Milan and Juventus monitoring Atletico Madrid midfielder ahead of January

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan and Juventus are both monitoring the situation surrounding Rodrigo De Paul who is struggling to make a mark in his second season with Atletico Madrid.

It seemed that a move to join up with Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid would be ideal for De Paul after he left Udinese in search of competing for trophies with a top team, and his performances with Argentina in the Copa America certainly built hype ahead of his arrival.

However, after over a year in the Spanish capital the 28-year-old is still yet to win a place in the starting line-up having started just four of Atleti’s 12 matches this season.

According to Mundo Deportivo (via Football España), a return to Serie A could become an option for De Paul as Milan and Juventus are monitoring his situation should he become available in the January transfer window.

Both the Rossoneri and the Bianconeri were heavily linked with a move for De Paul when he was at Udinese and they feel like he could still be of use to them, but neither team would be willing to pay €30m+ while Los Colchoneros forked out €35m to sign the Argentine.

  1. He is a very good player, but his price is still above 30 mil and he is 28 years old.
Doubt Milan spends that much, maybe on loan only. His salary is low

  2. We should get him while he’s still in Udinese and we just lost that turkish guy. Would have solved so many of our ‘problems’ back then. Not that intriguing for the current day, unless there’s a huge discount which is very unlikely.
