MN: Milan receive a much-needed double boost for the midfield as visit of Juventus looms

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli can count on the return of two midfielders for the game against Juventus on Sunday, according to a report.

According to MilanNews, Sandro Tonali should be straight back into the starting line-up having served his suspension during the defeat against Spezia on Monday night, while Ismael Bennacer is also back in Italy with Algeria having been knocked out of the African Cup of Nations at the group stages.

Amid the anger over the defeat against Spezia, it is certainly a positive for Pioli to welcome back Tonali who has been the undisputed leader of the midfield in what has been a fantastic second season at the club for him so far.

In all likelihood, Tiémoué Bakayoko will be his partner in the middle of the field from the first minute, but Bennacer has already returned to Milanello where he did a cool-down session this morning meaning he will probably be on the bench, ready to make an impact on a game in progress.
