AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie is an alternative for Real Madrid if they do not manage to get Aurelien Tchouameni from Monaco, a report claims.
Accoding to Spanish newspaper El Español (via ManagingMadrid), a club source at Real Madrid has confirmed that they are monitoring the situation surrounding Kessie given that his contract expires at the end of the season and they may end up offering him a contract.
However, the report also mentions that the likes of Barcelona, Liverpool and Tottenham also interested in signing Kessie which could result in a salary-based auction among the top European clubs.
The 25-year-old could end up being a long-term replacement to Casemiro at the base of Real’s midfield, but as mentioned it is dependant on the fate of Tchouameni who is also a candidate for the role. However, Monaco want €80m to let him go which might make Kessie a more sensible investment.
