GdS: Milan and Leao both want renewal – Maldini confident despite Jorge Mendes concerns

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan remain confident that they will reach an agreement with Rafael Leao over the extension of his contract, a report claims.

According to what was reported in this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it), the Milan management will soon begin work on the renewal of Rafael Leao having virtually secured the extension of Fikayo Tomori.

The Portuguese forward is among the priorities of the Rossoneri management once the summer transfer window is over, with Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara remaining confident that they will strike an agreement very soon with the Portuguese winger, whose current contract will expire in 2024.

The most difficult obstacle to overcome is his agent Jorge Mendes, who does not have ‘splendid’ relations with the Milan hierarchy after the Renato Sanches saga.

However, the paper makes it clear that the will of Leao and Milan is very strong and that is to continue together, which is a very important starting point.
