AC Milan will use the game against Lecce as a chance to observe midfielder Joan Gonzalez first hand, according to a report.
Calciomercato.com reported last week that Lecce took a punt on signing Gonzalez this summer as a free agent after Barcelona let him go, and he recently renewed his contract until 2027. The 20-year-old started as a right winger, but has the technical qualities to play both as a playmaker and as an attacking midfielder, and has currently settle into a central midfield role.
Now, the same source are reporting that the game against Lecce tonight at the Stadio Via del Mare will provide an opportunity for directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara to watch Gonzalez up close.
They confirm that the Spanish midfielder has ended up on the radar of the Rossoneri club as they look for reinforcements in that area of the field, so this evening’s game could well be an audition of sorts.
