GdS: Milan looking at €50-55m duo to strengthen attack – sales needed first

AC Milan are thinking about some January gifts for Paulo Fonseca, and they reportedly have a couple of wingers in their sights.

According to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below), there has been talk of Milan going for a deputy to Youssouf Fofana and a back-up for Theo Hernandez in the winter transfer window.

However, the right side of the attack is also worth monitoring because Samuel Chukwueze is not convincing while Christian Pulisic has now been moved to the role of central attacking midfielder. Noah Okafor is also disappointing, so the Swiss or the Nigerian could be sold to make room.

The first name that Milan are looking at is Maghnes Akliouche of Monaco, who is 22 years of age and has nine goal contributions (four goals, five assists) this season. He can play either as a winger or as an attacking midfielder, and is left-footed.

One issue is that Akliouche has a contract with the Monegasque club until 2028 and the starting asking price is €30m. Negotiating with Monaco – as demonstrated by the Fofana operation – is not easy, but given the talent that the young French forward has it could certainly be worth it.

The Rossoneri are also keen on Jamie Leweling of Stuttgart. Originally from Ghana, he has more pace than Akliouche and is sixth in the Bundesliga for completed dribbles. He has only one goal this season so far, but he did net on his senior Germany debut.

Leweling doesn’t mind tracking backwards to help his team-mates in the defensive phase so he could be a good balancer too. The German has just extended his contract until 2029 and therefore it is unlikely he will leave for less than €20-25m.

    1. That’s Okafor/Chukwueze replacements my guy… Okafor is done imo

Abraham needs to be replaced and good thing is that we can get Saelemakers back for free. The issue is if Pulisic is our new CAM, then we need a RW and Akliouche would be great (but I doubt our management can pull of this deal).

      ST: J.David, Morata, Camarda
      LW: Leao, Saelemakers
      RW: Akliouche, Chukwueze
CAM: Pulisic, Liberalli, (J.David and Morata can also play here)

      1. It will be better to just bring Saleamakers back to be either rather right wing or left wing instead of spending big on worthless players that are not of upgrade to those we already had.

      2. I like Okafor too but as you say unless a new coach comes in with strong ideas for him, he’s cooked.

I’d agree with your positions except for me there’s no need for another RW. Saelemaakers can play there as can Pulisic and Chukwueze

      3. Reijnders for AM my guy. Bring in a proper DM to play next to Fofana. Puli to stay at RW. David would end up blocking Camarda and he’s going to ask for 8M+.

        ST: Morata, Camarda
        RW: Pulisic, Chukwueze
        LW: Leao, Salad
        AM: Reijnders, Liberali
DM: New DM, Fofana, Bennacer, Musah

Total spend: Just the price of the DM.

Given our spending caps, this is a much likelier scenario. Particularly if we miss out on the CL. If there is any surplus at all, then maybe another striker but I doubt it will be Davix. And we will also need to replace Theo if he leaves (but maybe whatever we get for Theo will pay for that) and we’ll need another RB because Calabria is not being renewed (but maybe Jimenez will be shifted over).

        1. For me the dream would be Tonali back to play alongside Fofana, Reijnders as the AM and then Bellanova as RB….two signings and a proper elite manager….

A new striker be it David or another would be the cherry on top

          1. I love that, but should have happened this summer. Bellanova instead of Emerson. A smart attempt on Tonali(admittedly, very tough to judge this in the summer before seeing how Fofana adapts).. and then we keep Alexis and Kalulu, maybe even Simic and we don’t buy Pavlovic..

  1. Why are we looking to sign a non goal scoring striker 1 goal in 9 games this season is crazy bad, akliouche looks like a good idea but we are never getting him with the asking price over 25m it would be breaking moncadas cheap rules

  2. LOLOLOLO…..

    More comedy.

Is any one stupid enough to believe we will sign either these players – who have LONG TERM contacts AND asking price is well over 30M???????

Hahahahahahaha! We are owned by Redbird in case anyone forgot.

Dream another dream, this dream is over!

  3. Just try someone who has experience in Seria A and can be added value and can change this season , like Berardi or Orsolini . No more “stars” from Ligue 1 or Bundesliga.. Domestic players who knows league
