CorSport: Milan’s first three summer signings are lined up – the details of each

By Oliver Fisher -

All the focus regarding AC Milan at the moment is on that final game of the season against Sassuolo, but in the background work is being done on the market.

As reported today by Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milan are waiting for a decision from Zlatan Ibrahimovic regarding his future but in the meantime they have moved early to secure the signing of Divock Origi.

There is now a total agreement in place with the Liverpool striker and only the formal steps are missing, which will be completed after the Champions League final when the Reds face Real Madrid in Paris.

Then, there is a red hot axis between Milan and Lille. After the arrivals of Rafael Leao and Mike Maignan, the Dutch defender Sven Botman could be the next to make the move as he has given Milan priority over Newcastle United and Manchester United. The Rossoneri will have to make a good offer to the Ligue 1 club as his deal runs until 2025.

The other Lille star that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are keen on landing is Renato Sanches whose contract expiry in 2023 facilitates his arrival for a figure of around €20m.

  1. Even if takeover doesn’t happen, with just these 3 signings, a few renewals, Adli and Pobega coming home and maybe making Florenzi deal permanent, we would be much stronger than we are now.

Just need Leao and Isma to renew.

        1. This is not international level. Milan are nowhere near the powerhouse they need to be. They should be dominating Europe, but they are minnows.
