Longo: Milan, Lille and Renato Sanches all in agreement but Mendes’ stance raises questions

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have moved in advance to try and wrap up a deal for Renato Sanches but it seems Jorge Mendes’ approach is problematic, a report claims.

According to what is being reported by Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Milan and Lille found a total agreement for Renato Sanches in the January transfer window and it is one that has remained intact in recent weeks.

However, his agent Jorge Mendes has taken time. Even though his client is convinced about the idea of joining the Rossoneri and seemingly has a verbal pact with them, Mendes took time in January and did not want to rush things.

That is why for the time being things remain open and it cannot be considered a ‘done deal’ for the Rossoneri, and it is now also up to the player to make it clear that he has definitively chosen to join Milan at the end of the season.

    1. Agent can’t block a deal, he can only give you an advice. I never understood these articles. Agent works for the player, he can literally tell him to f off and sign, even pick the fee he will get or fire him.

      1. And that advice can block the deal. You’re too naive if you think agent can’t influences players decision. Just look at Dollaruma and Cashie case.

    2. These ‘agents’ usually have a very strong, confident temperament. Remember these people are good negotiators and smart people (usually from lawyers background), and footballers are usually people with high school graduates, usually sports school.

so yeah even though players have the last words, agents have very strong influence to these people. dont underestimate the influence of agents.

  1. Pls don’t compare Mendez with Raiola bcs Mendez always convince his client to join milan that is the reason why I like him not that ashole Raiola.

    1. These agents aren’t your friends. They will do anything that can give big benefits for their pocket and their clients.

  2. Avoid the drama and the cost (30M) and go sign Kamara for free. Use the Sanches $ on a proper RW. Love Sanches but with a limited budget I’d rather take Kamara on a free and spend big on a RW (and not Berardi IMO)

    1. I genuinely believe that Milan chose Renato over Kamara because they are different profiles. Had they been similar player’s it would be easy to sign Kamara.
