AC Milan's Portuguese forward Rafael Leao

CorSera: Milan set a limit in Leao renewal talks after call with ownership

AC Milan are currently in negotiations with the entourage of Rafael Leao over the renewal of his contract and they have set a limit, a report claims.

It is well known by now that there are many obstacles to overcome before Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara can get Leao to sign on the dotted line including the question of his salary, the commissions owed to his representatives, the release clause and the fine owed to Sporting CP.

According to what Corriere della Sera (via SempreMilan.it) are reporting, the Rossoneri management – after a meeting with the ownership to define their strategy – have set a ceiling of €7m net per season to offer the Portuguese forward.

It seems therefore that Milan will not go above that amount so we must see if Ted Dimvula and Jorge Mendes consider it enough – along with the other hurdles that must be jumped – to sign a new deal.

  1. Wtf are you negotiating that long, tell him what is max u can offer,if he wants to accept good,if not ,stop negotiating and sell him, simple as that,my lord, they negotiate for over 3 years …dont let a 20+ years kid fool you again like kessie and dollarumma

    1. I agree he is not worth 1million he is the worst player milan have. Need to sell more players as well too much crap in this squad.

  2. Negotiating this long is not good for his mental state, his focus and I cant imagine this is particularly good for team morale either.

GET IT DONE -Either sign or sell!

    Basta!

  3. I’ll say it a million times more before someone somewhere can get a hold of management and knock some sense into them about selling him and buy a complete new attack force such as lauriente, traore, and Retegui

  4. Prevelika je ponuda 7 mil. Ja bi mu sad ponudio 4 mil fixno i 3 mil plus ako postigne više od 15 golova po sezoni !!! Jedino tako če trčat inače ga boli ku..c

  5. Leao and his family are becoming greedy. 7mil is more than enough for his performance so far. Milan needs to understand that they are at advantage because Leao still got a lot to learn and won’t learn or come close to becoming great if he goes to another club with competition. Not wishing him bad, but that’s the truth. Milan also should stop the waiting game and sell the kid if he don’t wanna renew.

  6. maldini & co must learn from transfer guru Galliani. renew or sold him asap. no bigger than the club. milan buy alots of raw talent for the future, now its time for chaka traore steo up..

    1. Galliani was only a guru because milan had money to attract the best players. He couldn’t prove his craft when we needed him most when we had no money.

He signed Maxi Lopez instead of Tevez because of I think a €500,000 difference, that’s an unforgivable sin.
He allowed Pirlo to leave for free to Juventus because he judged him as finished.
He signed washed up players like Muntari, Essien to block the development of players like Cristante, Saponara and then signing Bertolacci to be our next midfield hero.
Thesame guru who couldn’t take a chance on Aubameyang despite showing promise.

Milan is not Milan of old, we have to understand that we are building back our reputation and finances, and we need some sacrifices to build a europe worthy team, selling a player easily at a negotiation hiccup doesn’t reflect a club with ambition.

  7. He’s not even worth 5, especially how he’s been playing the last 2 months. Take it or leave. We need to move on to the next talent who actually wants to play for us. Not sure what Leao expects but if he thinks he can play for a top club, he’ll be sorely disappointed. He will probably end up at Leeds or in Turkey.

  8. we know that pirlo, nesta, baggio, gattuso and maldini has been release by the club. Galliani knows how bigger milan is. they must respect for the club. never afraid someone come and go. milan sempre milan. forza !!

  9. The transfer window isn’t open so I don’t know what the point of telling “Sell! Sell!” At this point is….
When the window opens if he hasn’t signed he’ll be sold. Milan aren’t gonna let him play next season with no contract extension.

  10. Stop this long, long long negotiation now. 7 mil might be a bit too much for him at this point. Very inconsistent player, especially lately. He is playing lately like he has won everything in his career and he is the only one. Instead of lowering his head and learn some more. He has all the characteristics of becoming great, but his big head might get in the way. Sell while we can still get some good money of of him. Even theo earns a lot less than that, in my opinion he is one of the best in that position.

  11. Agree, we should from the long time ago set the time and price limit, that’s it…renew now or being sold,… economic situation is not ideal for milan now so stop waste too much time for those who didnt have a great passion to this black and red jersey, leao is good but no no no he is still not the best..

  12. Please, get rid of leao straightaway …. if he wants €7 million, then
Maignan should ask for €30 million!!!!! Get a good striker instead of this lazy jack in the box …..
