CM: Milan’s offer and Maldini’s persuasion – Rossoneri hoping to close Origi deal soon

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are getting closer to signing Divock Origi on a free transfer after a meeting between the management and his entourage, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com speaks of a positive meeting where a basis of agreement was reached for a multi-year contract worth €4m net per season which will be fully finalised in the coming weeks. The parties will meet again later to try to close the operation.

Technical director Paolo Maldini strongly wants the 26-year-old striker and moved to beat the competition from various English and Turkish clubs, while Origi considers his illustrious experience at Liverpool to be over.

He strongly wants a new experience where he can become an absolute protagonist and that’s why Milan are the destination that ‘fascinates him most’ because they are ‘a club with an incredible history’ who can offer the chance to compete for trophies.

Milan will have to fair for a few more weeks to get more clarity on the next steps, while there is a clause that provides for the automatic renewal of his deal with Liverpool until 2023 upon reaching a certain number of appearances, but at the moment he has only made five starts so it is far away from happening.

  1. I see it as a good move if milan get bellotti and origi, as this is ibrahimovic last season as a milan player. Milan will then loan out lazetic having bellotti and origi on free transfer is a coup, the we have giroud, origi and bellotti, possibilly charles de keteleret, sanches and botman, plus a good leftback as backup for theo and sign florenzi permanet and i bet we we get to champion league semi or final to win it.
