Tuttosport: Milan looking at Nigerian striker with 20 goals this season as Origi replacement

By Oliver Fisher -

Divock Origi continues to underwhelm in his mission to convince the AC Milan management and head coach Stefano Pioli which is why replacement are being looked at, a report claims.

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (via SempreMilan.it), Origi’s recent disappointing performance against Bologna seems to have definitively convinced Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara to buy another striker to partner with Olivier Giroud for next season.

Among the main names under observation is 22-year-old Victor Boniface, a Nigerian striker for Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium. Boniface scored 11 goals in 13 games this year between Champions League qualifiers and the Europa League for USG, while he has 6 goals in 30 league appearances.

Boniface is also being followed closely by Napoli and Lazio given that he has a price tag which is very much accessible, so the possibility that an auction will be triggered that will also involve other clubs during the summer is anything but remote.

    1. oshimen , Koulibaly, milinkovic savic played there as well and i could keep on naming players that played there so this type of statements doesnt make the slightest sense,

      1. Fair point, although I’ll point out that Osimhen did stop in Ligue one and score there, thereby proving he could perform at a higher level, and then wasn’t as prolific in his first season in Serie A. There has been an obvious progression with him. The other two aren’t strikers, so the pressure to execute isn’t anywhere near as high. I also distinctly remember Koulibaly being very error prone in his first couple of seasons in his distribution and positioning, so there was a learning curve. We need a striker than can slot in seamlessly and hit the ground running.

        1. its not about position but hat all leagues can offer talents. Lots of talents from the danish league as well, do i consider the danish league superior to the belgian one, not really and im from denmark. Kvaratshkelia came from the gerorgian league and despite playing in russia before there he didnt really deliver anything reminescent to the outcome in serie a.
Players should be bought on what technical qualities that are in need and then the clubs should look at bottom level and potiential max ability performances.
I will never accept that some players should be bought from certain leagues especially not in europe as all leagues can potentialy offer the next big name.

          1. Don’t sell yourself short Martin. Denmark > Belgium😉. Although don’t stay at the Kong Arthur in Copenhagen. They have bedbugs.

          2. haha had to look that hotel up, it looks fairly nice from outside but guess you had a really bad experience 😀 Danish teams and the national team can beat them no doubt but so can they do as well. Generally speaking though lots of talents comes from the jupiler league nevertheless and historically belgian teams has even won european club tournaments even if its decades ago.

        1. sure but also why i said “oshimen , Koulibaly, milinkovic savic played there as well and i could keep on naming players”…
if all of them had to be mentioned it would be a fairly long list 😀

  1. Aviod Another J Alvers Mistake
And stop the Bad Policy of being to sell before buying if we want to Develop as our Levels do.
Look Rome did they buy after sell they signed H Ourer and Even Endicka of Frankfort for Free.
Than our Managment want to Invest for 15m at left back sorry while we have Boursolane of Primavera. Look 3.5m of Origi salary.
    Folorenzi,Bakayoka,
Bonaface is much better than V Osmahneh beliefe me.
Strike the deal at this moment so he stays his ISG in Belgu
Ia to buy is based on need and to sell is another level adjucting the balance.
You Bought Toure, and you have 37year as Prime Striker.
My Advice to G Cardinale is to make S Ibrahimocic as our Coach and Sack S Pioli.
And Aooint Mocanda as Sporting Director.

    1. aouar and n’dicka hasnt signed for roma its just rumors that they are in negotiations with at least the first one.
Boniface better than oshiemen ? sure 😀
Not saying he couldnt be a valuable aquisition but come on thats a ridiculous statement at least for now and propably for the future as well.

      1. “aouar and n’dicka hasnt signed for roma its just rumors”, yeah, until the finish in the top four at our expense. When Juventus get their 15 points back this week we’ll be in 5th. We literally have to win all our remaining games including the one against Roma to guarantee champions league football next season, as we’d be level with Roma but owning the tie-breaker. You think those players will choose us over a club in the CL? Even Leao will go from 50/50 renewal to 0.

          1. ok good wasnt my intention either, Yeah you can argue that but there has also been rumors that aouar for example had set his wish on ac milan but who knows if he is even on the wishlist of ac milan to begin with.
Leao certainly would become more difficult to renew because of his salary demands but lets assume that we doesnt qualify for cl but ends up in the cl final losing we should be able to say that the lost cash from next season was pretty much earned in this one. Would give us less room in the market but not necessarily as detrimental because of the financials already gained by exceeding the expectations this year. On a sporting level it would propably be a bigger issue as some player might wanna leave and we would have fewer options in the market as well but lets see i believ we will qualify for cl and f juventus has some given back it hopefully wont be all of them at least.
