CM.it: Milan want to negotiate lower fee with Real Madrid for playmaker

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are looking to explore a deal to keep Brahim Diaz but want a discount on the previously agreed price, a report claims.

Calciomercato.it report that Brahim Diaz is ahead of Charles De Ketelaere in Stefano Pioli’s pecking order for the No.10 role as he has assimilated the coach’s tactical instructions well and knows how to interpret the role of attacking midfielder in his system.

However, the Spaniard is currently in the second of a two-year loan and that is why a decision must soon be made on his future. Milan would gladly keep Diaz, the report adds, but only under the right conditions.

In fact, the position of the Italian champions has not changed and, as written in November, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara would like to invest a lower amount than the €22m option to buy agreed back in summer 2021.

Soon tey will sit around a table with Real Madrid and the player’s entourage to take stock of the situation, knowing that everything is in the hands of Los Blancos as they could welcome Brahim Diaz back to strengthen a department that will lose several players in the summer.

The will of the former Manchester City man will be decisive, while Yacine Adli will also have an eye on the situation to see if next year he will have to compete against Brahim Diaz or if he will have more playing time.
